Introduction

Good day

My name is Craig Morton and this is the first addition to my new web blog concerning low emissions transport, sustainable mobility and some wider environmental topics. I am currently studying towards a PhD researching “Low Emissions Vehicles: A Demand Led Perspective” at the University of Aberdeen. I am funded by the UK Energy Research Centre and receive supervision from Dr Jillian Anable (University of Aberdeen) and Dr Christain Kind (University of Oxford).

I first studied economics at the University of Stirling where I received a first class honours degree in 2007. I moved onto studying a taught masters degree at the University of Edinburgh in Ecological Economics graduating in 2008. I decided to work in the financial sector for one year prior to starting my PhD in October 2009.

I hope this web blog will provide me with a medium to share my ideas with the wider world and allow me to give something back to society (in an accessible manner) that has been kind enough to provide me with the opportunity to conduct this research. I also hope that by keeping a detailed record of my progress in this area (both with my PhD but also with my wider environmental interest) that it will provide me with a historical account of the development of my abilities as a young academic researcher.
